We don’t follow trends; we create flavor experiences. It all began in 2009…….
……..as a flavour experiment that accidentally became a movement. Before there was a brand, there was just our tiny kitchen in a small Melbourne unit: two humans who loved food a little too much, and one Labrador (Hayley) who loved food even more. Cooking became constant tinkering – tasting something at a local eatery, coming home, breaking it down, and trying to recreate it with our own twist. One of those experiments became our famous Chilli Oil Mix – we simply couldn’t stop eating and neither could our family and friends and they kept asking for more. That encouragement pushed us from home batches to farmers markets, and eventually onto shelves across Australia.
Meet Chogu - Our Lab Tester
Chogu’s is the next chapter of our journey – expanding from Chilli Oil Mix into Sauces, Spreads, and Seasoning blends designed for everyday food lovers.
Named after our Labrador Chogu (our term of endearment), the brand carries her spirit — warm, loyal, curious, and a little cheeky. She’s the of Chogu’s, embodying everything our flavors stand for: comforting, joyful, familiar, and full of character.
She has been there through every trial, every failed batch, and every breakthrough. She’s seen the tears, the late nights and the joys of success. She’s slept with us on the office floors when days turned into past midnights marathons.
So, when it was time to give this new chapter a name, her eyes said it all.
